Ridgefield man killed in threecar crash on I205 onramp

first_imgA Ridgefield man died in a three-vehicle crash as he was pulling onto southbound Interstate 205 in Vancouver Thursday afternoon, when he was rear-ended by another vehicle as traffic slowed for ducks in the roadway.According to the Washington State Patrol, the driver, Michael R. Felton, 51, was turning south from Mill Plain Boulevard westbound shortly before 12:30 p.m., as were John R. Mead, 53, of Portland, and Lorie A. Pattee, 61, of Dexter, Ore.Troopers said Pattee had stopped for ducks in the roadway. Felton was slowing down behind her when Mead’s pickup rear-ended Felton’s sedan.The impact sent Felton’s car into Pattee’s, the state patrol said.Felton died at the scene. An ambulance took Pattee to PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center for her injuries. Her condition was unavailable Thursday evening.Mead was unhurt, according to the state patrol.The state patrol blamed inattention on Mead’s part for the crash, but said it was still under investigation.last_img read more
