File photoAssistant Superintendent of Police and Head of the Traffic Department Yvonne Alexander says authorities are currently discussing legislation in an effort to prevent the movement of heavy duty vehicles and container trucks in the city at certain times.Alexander says policy or legislation will deal with several aspects of the matter, including what routes these vehicles should take.“There are no regulations restricting any vehicles driving along any street but that is being discussed with a view to legislating the movement of these vehicles at particular times of day and on particular roads themselves,” she said.She says officials would have to first meet with truckers to further discuss the matter.“It’s interesting that even some truckers have agreed with us that the movement of these vehicles, especially up hill.
