ASGCO expands TruTrainer conveyor belt tracking idler range

first_imgThe Tru-Trainer series of conveyor belt tracking idlers from ASGCO, including the new V-Return variant, have a patented design aimed at improving reliability and re-activity. Their stainless steel internal pivot is perpendicular to the plane of the belt and they have a rubber covered shell with tapered ends to help actuate the trainer immediately as the belt moves off centre. ASGCO says that the design differs from conventional trainers by having the ability to constantly react to keep the belt centred. The separate tapered rolls can be individually replaced as wear occurs and there is an option to use high abrasion polyurethane lagged rollers. The group says that the new V-Return Tru-Trainer was developed to accommodate the excessive forces encountered with V-Return idler conveyors, systems and structures. The V-Return idler structure is often used for wide conveyor belts, generally over 48 in and for long conveyor systems to help centralise the centre of the conveyor belt on the system. The company says it includes needle thrust and tapered roller bearings and enhanced sealing system for “the most aggressive mining conditions.” Customers include a large mining operation handling 4 in minus copper ore at 850 feet per minute (260 m per minute), which installed a 60 in wide V-Return Tru-Trainer. ASGCO states: “Prior to the V-Return Tru-Trainer the customer experienced many belt tracking issues that were causing severe conveyor belt edge damage and the conveyor belt was cutting into the idler brackets causing severe safety issues. Since the installation of the V-Return Tru-Trainers, the tracking problems have all but been eliminated.”last_img
