About the authorPaul VegasShare the loveHave your say Wolves captain Conor Coady: We’ll fight backby Paul Vegasa month agoSend to a friendShare the loveWolves captain Conor Coady has faith the club can re-discover their form.Saturday’s 5-2 home loss to Chelsea means the Molineux outfit have one point from five Premier League games. He said: “I have great belief in the club and the team and we will come through it, but we don’t want to find ourselves in situations like this. “We’ve got to look at the way we’re doing things as much as possible because it’s not good enough. There are standards we have set so we’ve got to make sure that we rectify it.”The good thing is we’re in all competitions and the games are coming thick and fast. We’re giving teams too much space and we’re going behind in games too often. We go behind and we’re chasing it so it’s important that we do that better.”

Venezuela held on with 10 men to secure a 0-0 draw against Peru in a largely lacklustre Copa America encounter in Porto Alegre on Saturday.Luis Mago’s 75th-minute dismissal for a second bookable offence gave Peru hope of snatching all three points but a stalemate always seemed the likely conclusion between two evenly matched teams.Ricardo Gareca’s side did have the ball in the net on two occasions, only for offside decisions to deny Christofer Gonzales and Jefferson Farfan either side of half-time. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is still looking for the “right ones” to bring in at Manchester United and insists the summer transfer window has not left him frustrated despite a lack of movement. The Red Devils were expected to be busy before the next deadline passes after stumbling their way to a sixth-place finish in the Premier League last season.Big money was expected to be thrown at addressing long-standing issues at Old Trafford, but only two deals have been done so far, for Daniel James and Aaron Wan-Bissaka. Ox-rated! Dream night in Genk for Liverpool ace after injury nightmare Messi a man for all Champions League seasons – but will this really be Barcelona’s? There has been talk of further arrivals, with Leicester defender Harry Maguire and Sporting midfielder Bruno Fernandes considered to be top targets, but no agreements have been reached.Solskjaer insists that is not an issue, with the United boss eager to point out that he will not spend for the sake of it and will instead continue to pursue those he believes can make a difference. He told the club’s official website: “I’m very happy with the two that you mentioned [James and Wan-Bissaka] and we’ve got to be patient.“It’s a long haul and it’s very important we get the right ones in. When you hit a hurdle, we just can’t jump on a different path. So, no, I haven’t had a frustrating feeling at all.“I believe in these players and I’m sure that we could do well [this season]. But it’s about both short-term and long-term, so of course when we’re working on something, that means we’ve identified something that could improve us.“If it’s to be or not to be let’s see, but these [current] players, as you’ve said, have played well. We’ve performed well, we’ve had some good results and the whole pre-season so far has been encouraging.”Solskjaer is looking to deliver a “new start” at United, with a summer spent in Australia and the Far East intended to have the Red Devils ready to kick on into the 2019-20 campaign.“I think it’s important that we, as I’ve said before, start well, because you give yourself a chance then if you have a good start. But then again, it feels like a little bit of a new start,” added Solskjaer.“We want to find a style that we want to play, on the front foot, so it has to start some time and it’s easier in pre-season than in the middle of a season.“Of course, we spoke about this over the last six months as well and now we’re laying the foundations both mentally and physically. The tour has been very good as a team-building one as well.”United are back in International Champions Cup action on Thursday against domestic rivals Tottenham. AUBURN, AL – NOVEMBER 25: Tua Tagovailoa #13 of the Alabama Crimson Tide warms up prior to the game against the Auburn Tigers at Jordan Hare Stadium on November 25, 2017 in Auburn, Alabama. (Photo by Kevin C. Cox/Getty Images)By this point in the season, it is pretty clear that a quarterback will once again win the Heisman Trophy. This would be the eighth time in nine years that a signal caller took home the award.Alabama’s Tua Tagovailoa has established himself as the favorite, with Ohio State’s Dwayne Haskins and Oklahoma’s Kyler Murray nipping at his heels. If the Crimson Tide go 12-0 and Tagovailoa continues to play well, it will be tough to beat him out. This morning, ESPN released its updated “Heisman Watch” for Week 8. It indicates how the 10 experts on ESPN’s panel are voting for the Heisman at this point in the season. The top three shouldn’t surprise anyone, but the fourth and fifth options on this list are from the AAC, not one of the five power conferences. The full Heisman voting from ESPN looks like this.NamePositionSchoolYear1st2nd3rd4th5thTotalTua TagovailoaQBAlabamaSoph.9100049Dwayne HaskinsQBOhio StateSoph.1531036Kyler MurrayQBOklahomaJr.0343030Ed OliverDTHoustonJr.0112213Darrell HendersonRBMemphisJr.001218Justin HerbertQBOregonJr.001116McKenzie MiltonQBUCFJr.000113Will GrierQBWest VirginiaSr.000033Travis EtienneRBClemsonSoph.000011Jonathan TaylorRBWisconsinSoph.000011Tagovailoa has battled some knee issues but Nick Saban doesn’t expect the sophomore to miss time. LOS ANGELES, CA – NOVEMBER 07: Head coach Clay Helton of the USC Trojans before the game against the Arizona Wildcats at Los Angeles Coliseum on November 7, 2015 in Los Angeles, California. (Photo by Harry How/Getty Images)USC lost to rival UCLA on Saturday, and as a result, the Trojans will now need to beat Notre Dame next week to become bowl eligible. Either way, this hasn’t been a typical USC season, and some fans are calling for change. The Trojans struggled defensively all day against a Bruins team that entered the contest with just two wins. Many are wondering if this could have been head coach Clay Helton’s last game – or second-to-last game.Helton’s first two seasons as head coach produced 10 wins and 11 wins, respectively. But his third campaign has not gone well. Here’s a sample of what’s out there – the loss to UCLA seems to have been the tipping point.#USC will lose to a 2-8 #UCLA squad and now have to beat undefeated Notre Dame just to make a bowl game. There is no way Clay Helton should be back next season.— Ryan Abraham (@insidetroy) November 18, 2018Clay Helton is encroaching on can’t afford NOT to fire him territory. That’s pathetic— Clayton (@cbake75) November 18, 2018Dear Clay Helton,You’re a good man & we appreciate your time & effort. However, it wasn’t good enough. We believe it’s time to go our separate ways. We’re gonna consider letting you coach our final game against ND, but after that, please clean out your office!Sincerely,#USC ✌?— Super DJ Chris Armenta (@SuperDJCA) November 18, 2018USC now needs to beat Notre Dame, which is 11-0, just to notch its sixth win and play in a bowl game. Clearly, that’s not the standard for the program.Notre Dame, meanwhile, needs a victory to qualify for the College Football Playoff – so there will be plenty of motivation on both sides. It’s going to be an interesting Sunday for Helton. LOS ANGELES, CA – OCTOBER 24: The USC Trojans take to the field before the game against the Utah Utes at Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum on October 24, 2015 in Los Angeles, California. (Photo by Harry How/Getty Images)Tonight will go a long way towards determining how the Pac-12 South shakes out this year. The solid favorite in the division, No. 10 Utah, travels to Los Angeles to face a talented but embattled USC squad. The Trojans opened the year 2-0, sneaking past Fresno State and then blowing out Stanford. Just when it looked like the ship might be righted, Clay Helton’s team fell to BYU in Provo, 30-27 last week.Utah has ridden a top defense to a 3-0 start, beating that same BYU team on the road 30-12, followed by double-digit wins over Northern Illinois and Idaho State. If Helton is to save his job, knocking off the Utes at home and potentially inserting his team in the division driver’s seat would be a great start. That is, of course, much easier said than done. Hyped for those Friday Night Lights 🙌 pic.twitter.com/m9RWy8SJEB— Utah Football (@Utah_Football) September 20, 2019The Utes and Trojans are the headliner for this Friday night slate.Game Time: 9:00 p.m. ETChannel: FS1Spread: Utah -3.5Over/Under: 52.5Announcers: Joe Davis, Brock Huard, Bruce FeldmanTo Clay Helton’s credit, he was dealt an extremely tough hand for a coach on the hot seat, with an early season injury to former blue-chip quarterback JT Daniels. Daniels’ sophomore year emergence was seen as key to Helton sticking around long term.Insert freshman Kedon Slovis, who has put up incredibly impressive numbers in the Trojans offense. Since entering late in the Week 1 victory, Slovis is completing 77.3-percent of his throws for a rock-solid 9.5 yards per attempt. He has 715 yards, five touchdowns, and four interceptions. The tests so far haven’t matched up to what Utah will bring defensively tonight, though. USC’s 22nd-ranked offense, per ESPN’s SP+ model, is set for a showdown with Utah’s 24th-ranked defense. The Utes have surrendered just 174.3 yards per game through the air.Utah also has a pretty dynamic duo in its offensive backfield. Tyler Huntley has been very efficient, throwing for over 11 yards per attempt and completing 77.8-percent of his throws. He has four touchdowns with no interceptions. Running back Zack Moss has 373 yards and four touchdowns on the ground, gaining 6.5 yards per clip.
